Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access and use of the GeoGPSCamera mobile applications (Android and iOS), our verification website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

How the Service Works

Camera and geo-tagging

• The app uses your device camera and location (with your permission) to show a live preview and burn a geo-tag overlay (map preview, address, coordinates, and timestamp) onto photos you capture.
• Photos and videos remain on your device unless you save them to your photo library or share them using your device's share features.
• In Camera mode, captured geo-tagged images can be saved directly to your photo library without opening the verification workflow.
• In Verification mode, you can generate a verification ID and share proof documents from the result screen.

Verification and our servers

• When you start verification, the app sends session metadata to our servers, including capture time, latitude, longitude, address text, and a device identifier.
• Our servers return a verification ID that can be displayed on your image and checked on our verification website.
• We do not store your photo or video files in our server database when you register a verification session.
• Optional checksum hashes of exported PDF/JPEG files may be sent to help verify file integrity. These are cryptographic hashes, not copies of your images stored as photos on our servers.
• If you use an in-app photo verification check that uploads an image to our API, that upload is used only to perform that verification request and is not described as permanent photo gallery storage on our servers.

Verification website

You may enter a verification code on our website to view the location and address metadata associated with that verification session, subject to our systems and availability.

User Responsibilities

• Use the Service only for lawful and legitimate purposes.
• Do not misuse, falsify, or attempt to manipulate location or verification data.
• Ensure you have the right to photograph people, property, and locations, and comply with local laws.
• You are responsible for reviewing geo-tag accuracy before relying on it for official, legal, or safety-critical purposes.
• When sharing images, understand that EXIF location data may be visible to recipients.

Data Usage

We use verification metadata (time, coordinates, address text, device identifier, verification IDs, and optional checksums) to operate the verification feature. We do not use this metadata to sell your personal information. We do not store your captured photo or video files in our server database as part of standard verification session registration.

Third-Party Services and Ads

The Service may display advertisements (Google AdMob) and use Google Maps and analytics services. Those providers process data under their own terms and policies. Map accuracy and availability depend on third-party services and network conditions.

Limitations of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect GPS accuracy, map availability, or that verification results will be accepted by any third party. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Intellectual Property

GeoGPSCamera, its branding, and the Service are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app except as allowed by applicable law. You retain rights to photos you create; you grant us only the limited rights needed to process verification metadata and optional verification requests you initiate.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or misuse the application. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
